Does the installer use stainless steel, galvanised or powder coated fixings?

Bright zinc or steel screws and nails will rust quickly. This will cause staining to your deck. As these fixings corrode they will lose their strength and this may result in the deck boards moving or popping, resulting in an uneven surface. Remember your timber components are guaranteed for 15 years, so ensure the fixings will last at least that long.
