With a record number of entries already in all categories and the submissions deadline for 2019 Arbordeck Awards entries on Friday 27th September fast approaching, preparations for the ceremony are underway, and we’re taking a look back at last year’s award-winners.

Scooping the top prize of Best of Trex in 2018 was Newcastle-based North Spas, for its Peffer project which was made up of a raised level Trex Transcend deck in Island Mist, stairs, lighting and a hot tub, allowing its clients to take full advantage of their garden space.

As a result of winning the top accolade, North Spas’ Davy Mason has won a four-day trip to Washington, D.C. for a behind-the-scenes tour of Trex University and its production facility – with plenty of time for sightseeing in the US capital too.

North Spas also took home the titles of Best Trex Design Solution for its raised level deck in Whickham and Best Small Trex Deck for its pond surround project in Seaham, – proving it’s worth entering more than one category!

Whalley Construction’s deck incorporating a sweeping curved border came out on top in the Best Large Trex Deck category.

As well as these categories being open again this year, we’ve introduced the Best Arbordeck Softwood Timber Deck category, to celebrate the beauty of softwood decks. Entries are open to residential or commercial projects of all sizes, so if you’ve completed an impressive design and installation using softwood decking, we’d love to hear from you.
