The Arbordeck Awards are back – and bigger than ever

Since we launched them in 2018, the Arbordeck Awards have been an annual celebration of the very best of decking across the country.

The awards showcase the work of talented installers from all corners of the UK whose enthusiasm and skills help to bring their customers’ visions to life. The surge in demand for home improvements since the first lockdown in 2020 has meant that many installers have experienced a busy 18 months – and what better way to celebrate stunning new decking installations than with the Arbordeck Awards?

We’re always delighted to see such a wide selection of outdoor spaces created with Trex® composite decking and Arbordeck softwood timber decking, with the number of entries continuing to increase each year. It shows that you love the Arbordeck Awards just as much as we do, which is why we’re pleased to be bringing them back for 2021 – and this year they’re set to be bigger and better than ever.

Back to business

You might remember that FutureScape 2020 had to go virtual due to pandemic-related restrictions, which meant that we also had to host the Arbordeck Awards virtually last year – but we’re pleased to announce that, as long as guidelines allow us to, we’ll be able to host an in-person awards ceremony at FutureScape in November.

We’re looking forward to announcing the category winners and handing out trophies and certificates in person again this year, but there’s so much more to the awards than the prizes. The Arbordeck Awards go beyond celebrating elite decks – they allow installers from across the UK to come together and network; something we’re sure will be appreciated more than ever this year.

Brand new categories

All five categories – Best Large Trex Deck, Best Small Trex Deck, Best Commercial Trex Deck, Best Trex Design Solution and Best Arbordeck Softwood Timber Deck – will be returning this year, but we’re delighted to be giving you more chances to win as we introduce two brand new categories for 2021: TrexPert of the Year and Top Spec Trex Deck.

The TrexPert of the Year category is the one for true Trex champions: if you’re flying the flag for Trex composite decking through your social media channels, website, signage or livery, we want to hear from you.

Top Spec Trex Deck has been introduced as the category for decks which have not only been created using Trex composite decking, but also contain the added extras. To be in with a chance of winning this category, the deck must include the use of at least two of the following: Trex Signature Railing and/or ArborRail, the Trex Lighting Collection, and/or CustomCurve curved decking boards.

What’s more, the Best Trex Design Solution category is now open to any installations that needed to take an existing feature such as a pond, hot tub or skylight into account. If your project was part of a tricky space and you overcame these challenges to create a stunning deck, this is the category for you.

And of course, our panel of judges will be considering entries from across all seven categories for the top prize: Deck of the Year. As well as receiving the category prizes including professional photography of the deck and the use of category winner digital assets, the lucky Deck of the Year winner will receive a money-can’t-buy trip for two to Washington, D.C., complete with a visit to Trex University in Virginia.
