2021 Arbordeck Awards: winners revealed

Arbordeck Awards at FutureScape 2021

After 18 months of restrictions, it was fantastic to have so many talented landscapers back together under one roof at FutureScape 2021 for the Arbordeck Awards 2021.

And we’re particularly pleased that the event taking place at the ExCeL London meant that we were able to host the 2021 Arbordeck Awards in person once again, after last year’s virtual event. The awards provided the perfect opportunity to celebrate the landscaping works that have taken place across the UK as installers faced an unprecedented demand for outdoor living projects in recent months.

The event highlighted the dedication, talent and skill of installers from all corners of the country, and the standard of entries was incredibly high this year – so everyone who took part is a truly a winner in the celebration of Trex composite decking.

Because of this, choosing the 2021 category winners was no easy task for our panel of judges, but we’re delighted to announce that Swansea-based Simon Thomas Deck & Design has scooped three awards this year: Trexpert of the Year, Top Spec Trex Deck, and the coveted Deck of the Year prize.

Simon’s winning Craig Cwm Celle Salem project was created using two of Trex’s most popular colours, Trex Transcend Island Mist and Trex Transcend Tiki Torch, as well as the Trex CustomCurve oven with the deck’s inlay, path and steps all featuring curved edges. The deck also features a unique curved snake design which runs across the full length of the deck and was inspired by the Celtic symbol, triquetra.

There were of course plenty of other winners on the day too, with AMS Garden Services taking home the title for Best Large Trex Deck while Beams & Braces came out on top in the Best Small Trex Deck category. Advanced Decking’s project was named as Best Commercial Trex Deck and the top prize in the Best Arbordeck Softwood Timber Deck went to The London Decking Company, while A.M. Joinery’s Great Clifton project was named as Best Trex Design Solution.

Commenting on the 2021 Arbordeck Awards, head judge and Trex business manager at Arbor Forest Products, Jonathan Cooper, said: “Congratulations to Simon Thomas Deck & Design for being awarded Deck of the Year, and congratulations to all of the other category winners this year as well. The standard of entries has been very high, so everyone who entered and who was shortlisted should be incredibly proud of their projects.

“It’s great to see the Arbordeck Awards growing each year, and we’re looking forward to celebrating its fifth year in 2022 as we continue to honour the very best of UK landscapers and TrexPRO installers.”
