Have you installed a Trex® composite deck? Then we want you to celebrate your best work! We’re searching for the UK’s best Trex® decks – large or small, commercial and residential, and tricky design challenges.
This is your chance to showcase your talents and to have your winning Trex® deck professionally photographed, before being promoted through Arbordeck’s extensive marketing channels – helping build your brand and your business.
The winner of the ‘Best of Trex®’ Award will be jetting off with a guest of their choice to the U.S., landing in Washington DC before heading to the Trex University – a once in a lifetime experience!
Best of Trex® Award
All entries to the 2018 Arbordexperts Installer Awards will be automatically put forward for the Best of Trex® Award category. The judges will be looking for a deck that typifies the unique benefits of Trex® composite decking, incorporates outstanding installation quality and design and showcases what can be expected from outdoor living and the Trex® range. This category cannot be entered in isolation.
Best commercial Trex® deck
Have you installed a deck in a commercial environment? This could be a school, park, in an office break area or around a restaurant, pub or nightclub. We’re looking for examples of how Trex® composite decking has added an extra dimension to a project, whether large or small, creating a space that combines functionality, durability and good looks.
Best large Trex® deck
This category is open to all residential decks over 30m2 in size. We’re not just looking for size though, the deck should elevate the space and usability of the project.
Best small Trex® deck
This category is open to all residential decks under 30m2 in size. Unique features and solutions that make the best of the limited space will help to attract the judges attention with this category.
Best Trex® design solution
We’re looking for examples of decks that have brought out the best in challenging spaces and projects. Have you tamed a sloping site, reclaiming previously unusable space, or created a practical storage solution in a deck to free up space previously given over to a shed? Impress us with your creativity!

Meet our Arbordexperts judges
We are pleased to announce the panel of expert judges who will be scrutinising each Trex® deck entry for its creativity, quality of installation, overall appearance and use of the available space.
Sarah Francis, decking category manager at Arbor Forest Products, has overseen Arbor Forest Products’ distribution of Trex in the UK since joining the company in 2016. Sarah’s role gives her invaluable insight into how Trex is used across the world, so she will be looking out for installations which make the most of the decking’s unique properties and pristine appearance.
Trex’s market manager, Alan Hodkinson, is the second judge on the panel, and has worked with the composite decking brand for 18 months. Through his work campaigning for UK merchants to become Trex stockists, and championing the TrexPRO scheme in the UK, Alan has gained a great deal of knowledge of Trex installers and installations which gives him a keen awareness of what makes a great Trex deck.
Joining the judging panel is Pro Landscaper Magazine’s managing director, Jim Wilkinson. Jim’s 14 years’ experience in the sector and his stewardship of Pro Landscaper has given him a keen sense of what excellent landscaping looks like, and he will be particularly keen to see installations which fit seamlessly or perfectly complement their surroundings.
Andy Tudbury, founder and designer at Halcyon Days Garden Design, recently founded The Belvoir Flower and Garden Festival and is a regular star of BBC Gardener’s World Live. As a professional designer Andy is interested in seeing creativity and originality of design, and Trex installations that are perfectly in sync with their surroundings.
