The Arbordeck Awards are back for 2020
With so many people using the lockdown period as an opportunity to make home improvements, decking installers have experienced an incredibly busy decking season which looks set to continue later into the year.
And it’s been great to see installers helping each other out during these unprecedented times, including those with a Trex CustomCurve™ oven curving boards for other installers to allow them to take on projects they otherwise wouldn’t have been able to. This sense of community among installers during these challenging few months is one of the reasons we chose to host the Arbordeck Awards again this year: to recognise the hard work and dedication that goes into installing a deck, particularly under such unusual circumstances.
So we’re delighted to announce the launch of the Arbordeck Awards 2020 – with entries now open until Friday 2nd October.
What are they?
The Arbordeck Awards recognise the best work carried out by decking installers, so we see a huge variety of decking styles and sizes through entries across the categories.
This year’s categories are the same as last year: Best Small Trex Deck, Best Large Trex Trex Deck, Best Trex Design Solution, Best Commercial Trex Deck and Best Arbordeck Softwood Timber Deck. There’s also the prestigious Deck of the Year title, which our expert panel of judges will award based on entries across all of the other categories.
Fantastic prizes are on offer for winners of all of the categories, and the Deck of the Year category winner will even win a trip for two for next year to Washington, D.C. and a visit to the Trex University in Virginia.
Where will they be?
The awards will be held on the 17th November 2020 at the FutureScape event, which is taking place at the ExCeL London this year and will give visitors the chance to speak to industry experts including Arbordeck and Trex representatives.
We’ll be hosting an awards ceremony on the first day of the event, which will comply with social distancing guidelines. There will also be various safety measures in place at FutureScape this year, including the size of the aisles doubling, an increased registration space and bigger seminar rooms. Please visit the FutureScape website to find out more about the safety measures which will be carried out across the two-day event.
How can I enter?
Not only are the Arbordeck Awards free to enter, but they also couldn’t be easier: simply click here to fill out the form and upload at least one photo of the finished deck. You can find some tips for making your entry stand out from the crowd in a blog by previous winner Davy Mason of North Spas here too.
Installers can enter the same deck in as many categories as they’d like – as long as it fits the criteria – and they can enter as many decking projects as they’d like.
Entries will be accepted until Friday 2nd October and then our expert judges will carefully consider each one to decide on the winners of all five categories, plus who will take home the title of Deck of the Year. If your deck is shortlisted, you’ll be notified by email or phone with an invitation to FutureScape on the 17th November 2020.
