The results are in: announcing the winners of the 2022 Arbordeck Awards

We’re thrilled to announce the winners of the 2022 Arbordeck Awards, including the results of the first ever public vote in celebration of the awards’ fifth anniversary.

Kent-based Browns Landscape and Decking scooped the top Deck of the Year prize, which includes a money-can’t-buy trip for two to Washington, D.C. complete with a visit to the inspirational Trex University in Virginia. Browns Landscape and Decking’s Sole Street deck also came top in the Top Spec Trex Deck category and was awarded silver in the Best Large Trex Deck category, both of which were voted for by the public.

The striking deck showcases the very best of Trex, featuring composite decking boards in the classic combination of popular shades Island Mist and Calm Water, installed using several fixings systems including the Trex® Hideaway Secret Fixing System, Trex Pro Plug® Composite Deck Screw and Trex Protect Tape. Utilising the Trex CustomCurve™ oven, the unique deck also features a curved pathway and centerpiece circle with an inlay design, completed with decking lights for both style and safety.

Roger Brown at Browns Landscape and Decking commented: “We are over the moon at having won Deck of the Year. We’ve been installing Trex decking for the past seven years and have been Platinum Installers for four years, so it’s great to have received such recognition – especially amongst so many worthy winners this year.”

Winners of the remaining public vote categories include Celtic Decks, Celtic Carpentry Ltd, Simon Thomas Deck & Design and Thompsons Timberworks. Three categories – including the coveted Deck of the Year – were still chosen by the judging panel comprising three industry experts, with Paul Smythe of Gower Composite Decking & Carpentry and Michael McCloy of Elite Composite Designs named as Best Trex Newcomer and Trex Brand Champion of the Year respectively.

To mark the event’s fifth anniversary, the 2022 Arbordeck Awards were attended by two Trex US representatives, Frank Deiuliis and Brad Felix, for the first time.

Jonathan Cooper, Arbordeck Trex business manager at Arbor Forest Products said: “The Arbordeck Awards are held in celebration of everything Trex has to offer and to thank installers for their hard work and support, so we’re delighted to have reached our fifth milestone anniversary. We had a fantastic response from the public vote and it’s been great to see installers and their customers so eager to engage with Trex decking projects.

“Congratulations to Browns Landscape and Decking and all other 2022 category winners. The standard of entries continues to grow each year meaning choosing the winners wasn’t an easy decision, so everyone shortlisted should be incredibly proud of their projects.”
