A combination of two popular Trex Transcend shades were used in this intricate deck, which features a unique inlay design, spiral stairs and frameless glass railings for uninterrupted ocean views.

The inspiration

Simon Thomas Deck & Design installed a striking decking space for this coastal property, designed to maximise the spectacular view with ease of access to and from the house.

The detail

Trex Transcend in Tiki Torch and Lava Rock provided the ideal complementary yet contrasting shades for this deck, which is as practical as it is stylish. Custom spiral steps lead onto the main deck, which features a unique dragon inlay design in a nod to the property’s Welsh location.

This custom inlay is framed by Trex Outdoor Lighting for a striking effect that allows the deck to be safely used at sunset and beyond. Simon Thomas Deck & Design also installed frameless glass railings around the edge of the main deck, which prioritises safety without blocking the beautiful outlook onto the ocean.

Finishing touches were added to the deck in the form of a custom curved bench and a palm tree planter, for the full coastal experience.

Unique in so many ways, this one-of-a-kind deck impressed the Arbordeck Awards 2022 judges and came out on top in the Best Trex Design Solution category.
